Six of family killed in blast in Kupwara

Six members of a family, including three girls, were killed and four others injured in a blast at Traki in the frontier district of Kupwara late last night.

Official sources said a bomb blast took place in the house of one Lassai Wani late last night at Traki in the north Kashmir district of Kupwara, about 55 km from Srinagar. Sources said the house owner, his two sons Javed and Sajjad Ahmad, three daughters Mobeena, Fahmeda and Afroza, were killed on the spot. Two more persons were killed whose identity was not known, sources said and added that the wife of the house owner and three others were injured.

Senior police and civil officers have rushed to the area, and further details were awaited.
