Inaugurating the Defexpo India '99 in New Delhi being attended by representatives from 28 countries including Britain, France, South Africa, Israel and many other countries, the defence minister said India offers tremendous opportunities for joint ventures, technological transfers and co-production facilities for export to other markets. ''Presently our exports in the defence sector are modest. However, we hope to access a large share of the export market in the years to come.'' A total of 194 exhibitors from all over the world are participating in the five-day event being jointly organised by the defence ministry and the Confederation of Indian Industry.
