Re 1 award on Osama bin Laden

E-Mail this report to a friend

The All India Minorities Front and the Solidarity Against Abuse of Religion today announced a symbolic reward of Re 1 to any person who brought Saudi terrorist Osama bin Laden to them dead or alive.

The ''reward'' would be paid in cash and the expenditure incurred on travel or transportation, if any, would be paid in addition.

S M Asif and R R singh, presidents of AIMF and SAAR respectively, said at a joint press conference in New Delhi that the practice of announcing rewards on the heads of terrorists gave them (terrorists) more publicity and popularity. Moreover, such things created panic in the minds of the people and the terrorists' motive was achieved.

The two organisations declared a 'jehad' on terrorism all over the world and announced that the year from tomorrow to October 1, 2000 would be observed as the 'Year Against Terrorism.'
