AP to launch unique one-stop service centresSyed Amin Jafri in Hyderabad Twin Cities Integrated Network Services, a pilot project to provide all the government services to the public under one roof, will be launched in Hyderabad on December 10. TWINS, inspired by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, will offer 18 types of services in six departments and utilities, including remittance of electricity, water and property tax bills, issuance of birth, death, caste and encumbrance certificates, vehicle registration certificates, bus passes etc and grant of driving licences, trade licences and building permits. TWINS will be taken up on an experimental basis in Hyderabad and will be extended to the districts later, covering more services. As many as 15 service centres have been planned in the twin cities for providing one-stop service to the citizens. The state government is also approaching the Indian government to offer the central services too at these centres. These services will include remittance of telephone bills, submission of passport applications, air and rail ticket bookings and reservations, etc.
