Netherlands Prime Minister Wim Kok today expressed his country's full support to India for a permanent seat in the expanded Security Council.

Talking to newsmen at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he was accorded a ceremonial welcome by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and his senior cabinet colleagues, Wim Kok said that India deserved to be the member of the Security Council because of its importance in the world.

The visiting dignitary is leading a high-level official and business delegation with a view to giving a fillip to the economic and political relations between the two countries.

He said his government was keen to further enhance relations with India. Kok's talks with Indian leaders would cover bilateral economic and political matters and a wide range of international issues.
