Sardinha blames Congress leadership

E-Mail this report to a friend

Francisco Sardinha, who has staked his claim to form a new government in Goa after splitting the Congress legislative party, says the party high command had pampered Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro ignoring the need for a proper collective leadership in the state.

A staunch Congressman and a Congress loyalist, Sardinha told reporters today that the party leaders in Delhi had ignored the advice of several senior Congress leaders on the ground realities in the state, particularly after the party's debacle in the recent Lok Sabha election.

To add to the misery of the Congress, the party and the government were run by the same persons giving them unlimited say in running the affairs of the state, he said.

The party had plunged into unnecessary controversies because of Faleiro's poor handling of the situation, he said.

He accused Faleiro of witch-hunting and blackmailing, besides threats of action through the introspection committee headed by A K Anthony.
