Two SOG personnel were killed and two others were injured. But the house was immediately cordoned off and reinforcements summoned from a nearby camp. The exchange of fire continued for about six hours. Forces later fired rockets towards the house from where the extremists were attacking them with automatic weapons and grenades. The bodies of two foreign militants and a civilian were recovered from the debris of the damaged house this morning. A Lashkar-e-Toiba spokesman told local newspapers that they had lost two activists, including Abu Akram, who was a member of the suicide squad that had attacked the 15 Corps headquarters. Militants hurled a hand-grenade inside a Border Security Force bunker at Hawal in downtown Srinagar last evening, causing injuries to two jawans.
