One woman, three children killed in Pak shelling

A woman and three children, including an infant, were killed and a boy was seriously injured when Pakistani troops shelled civilian areas and military installations in the Karnah sector of north Kashmir early this morning, official sources said.

The woman, identified as Shareen, wife of Mohammed Ashraf, and the three children -- Zahida (16), Shafiqa (four) and Sahida (one) -- were killed when a shell landed on Ashraf's house in Lata Tangdar village.

The house was extensively damaged, the sources added.

A boy, Parvez Ahmad, was critically wounded in the shelling. He was taken to a hospital
