12 killed in fierce J&K encounter

Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar

Twelve people including six Border Security Force men and two militants were killed today in a fierce encounter in Tarzoo, Sopore, north Kashmir.

Six houses were also damaged in a fire mishap as the encounter continued. More army and BSF reinforcements have been rushed to the area, sources said.
