Cholera claims nine children in Doda district of J&K

At least nine persons, mostly children, have died of cholera in village Paili in Kishtwar area of Doda district in the past two days.

According to information available with the Athali police, seven people died yesterday and two others breathed their last today.

Villagers alleged that there was no doctor in the village and it took about eight to ten hours to reach Kishtwar hospital on foot.

Official sources said efforts were being made to send a team of doctors to the village.
