Explosion triggers panic in Madras, two held

Two country bombs exploded this morning on the busy Arcot Road in Kodambakkam area of Madras, triggering panic among the people. The police arrested two persons hailing from Cuddapah in Andhra Pradesh in this connection.

The police arrested Mohana Reddy (25) and his brother-in-law Ramana Reddy (26).

No one was injured in the explosion, which occurred when the bombs fell out of a bag carried by one of the accused.

After the explosion, the public caught the two accused and handed them over to a police patrol party. Two others, who had accompanied them, fled.
