CWC resolves to fight BJP's propaganda on SoniaThe Congress Working Committee today decided to "effectively confront" the malicious and slanderous personal disinformation campaign launched by the BJP and other members of the Sangh Parivar against its president Sonia Gandhi and directed Pradesh Congress Committees and subordinate units to unmask the real face of the BJP. The Sangh Parivar has started once again "their old trick" of misleading people through vicious disinformation campaign on non-issues and the whole thing is aimed at diverting the attention of the people from the disastrous performance of the 13-month old government, the committee said. The deliberations of the meeting were briefed to Media-persons by CWC member Arjun Singh at the AICC headquarters. AICC general secretary Pranab Mukherjee, AICC secretary Anil Shastri and party spokesperson Ajit Jogi were present. Addressing the CWC meeting, Gandhi made it clear that she could not be intimidated by the attack launched against the party and her personally by the BJP and its organisations. She recalled that Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi could not be intimated by such attacks. She wanted the party workers to meet with determination the threats of the Sangh Parivar to the secular fabric and pluralistic nature of the society. She recalled the unity shown by the party during the last assembly elections and wanted the same unity again so that the party could achieve victory. The meeting also approved the list of party candidates for the Goa assembly elections scheduled to be held on June 4. UNI
