Heat wave withers parts of Jammu

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in parts of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu.

Heat wave conditions also prevailed in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and parts of the hills of west Uttar Pradesh, north central Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Telangana and in the remaining parts of Haryana.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Assam, Meghalaya, Rayalaseema and in parts of Bihar plateau, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, and were above normal in parts of north interior Karnataka.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh from where the data were sparse.

Rain or snow occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka and Kerala.

Very light rain also occurred at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal and north interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Haryana, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
