Quake of moderate intensity rocks Assam district

An earthquake of moderate intensity rocked Sonitpur district in Assam last night, reports from Tezpur said.

The tremor, which occurred at about 2210 hrs, lasted about ten seconds and forced people out of their houses.

However, there was no report of any loss of life or property, the police said.
