Showers to continue in South India

Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in Kerala and Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in parts of Haryana and northwest Rajasthan.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and coastal Andhra Pradesh, and were above normal in parts of Punjab, east Rajasthan and of north Tamil Nadu.

They were markedly below normal in Bihar and were appreciably below normal in parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal and east Uttar Pradesh.

They were below normal in parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gujarat region and coastal and south interior Karnataka and south Tamil Nadu.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh from where the data were sparse.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal and south interior Karnataka, at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Orissa, the Bihar plateau, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar plains, plains of west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and coastal and north interior Karnataka.

Very light rain also occurred at isolated places in east Madhya Pradesh.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep, at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa and coastal Andhra Pradesh and at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
