Sonia may contest the election from Amethi

Congress president Sonia Gandhi is likely to contest the Lok Sabha election from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.

This was indicated by All-India Congress Committee spokesman Ajit Jogi while speaking to reporters in Raigarh, Madhya Pradesh, last night.

Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party of having unleashed a campaign to malign Gandhi, he said this clearly demonstrated that the BJP did not want to contest the election on issues.
