Duggal panel irked over Delhi govt's stonewalling

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Justice Santosh Duggal Committee, formed by Delhi high court to ascertain whether the 40 per cent fee hike effected last year by public school managements was justified, is disgusted with the non-cooperative attitude of the Delhi government.

Instead of filing a progress report, the committee has filed a report in the court on the acts of omission and commission of the government.

The committee, finding itself virtually helpless to carry out the task assigned to it by the high court in the absence of staff, office, working facilities and relevant documents, has offered to resign.

Though Justice Duggal, a former judge of the high court, had sent the report in a sealed cover directly to the division bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Devinder Gupta, the court ordered that it be put on record, making it a public document.
