12 militants shot dead in KashmirTwelve militants, six of them foreigners, and a soldier were among the 14 killed in Jammu and Kashmir during the past 24 hours. Forces also captured seven militants. The Border Security Force jawans arrested 19 Bangladeshi nationals when they were trying to enter Pakistan occupied Kashmir through the Samba sector. An official spokesperson said an encounter took place between security forces and militants during a search operation at Nesbal village in Baramulla district Friday evening. During the six-hour gun-battle, three militants were killed. One house was damaged. Three AK rifles, nine magazines and 11 grenades were recovered. Forces gunned down two militants at Nowshera in the border town of Uri Friday night, the spokesperson said. The body of a militant, Mohammad Latief Bhat, was recovered from Zalangam village in Anantnag, while another was fished out from the Jehlum river at Maisuma. Forces captured seven militants and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition, including 15 grenades, six magazines, about 300 rounds, 20 detonators, five remote control devices, one-and-a-half kg of explosives and two time-pencils in the valley in overnight operations. He said unidentified gunmen looted Rs 75,000 and some gold ornament at Tangpora and Gojwara respectively Friday evening. UNI
