E-Mail this report to a friend

The Indian National Lok Dal today suffered a jolt when prominent party leader and former Haryana minister Om Parkash Sharma quit the party and joined the Congress along with his supporters.

Dr Sharma, who represented the Jagadhri assembly constituency four times, called on Haryana Congress unit president Bhupinder Singh Hooda at the party headquarters in Chandigarh and expressed full faith in the leadership, policies and programmes of the Congress president, adding that only Sonia Gandhi could give a stable government to the country.

Hooda welcomed Dr Sharma and his supporters assuring them due recognition in the party.
