Outlawed Maoist Communist Centre activists gunned down two people and injured three home guard jawans before looting 10 rifles and about 200 cartridges from the Madandarpur police picket under the Sarsengram police station in Rohtas district of Bihar late last night.

Official sources today said that two people, who were returning home on a two-wheeler from a marriage party, were killed by the militants. Later the militants raided the police picket. The jawans were seriously injured in the attack, the police added.

Reports said that only five jawans were manning the picket during the attack.

Rohtas district Superintendent of Police S K Singhal said senior officials including Deputy Inspector General of Police (Sahabad range) A K Sinha were camping in the area.
