UP minister quits

Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Family Welfare Devendra Singh 'Bholey' of the Bharatiya Janta Party today tendered his resignation alleging that Chief Minister Kalyan Singh was 'partisan' and 'vindictive'.

He handed over his resignation to the chief minister. He alleged that the latter was surrounded by 'corrupt' officials.

The minister was in the midst of a controversy following the arrest of his brother on the charge of whisking away an accused from a police station in Kanpur Dehat on March 29.
