Dara Singh's interview sparks storm in Orissa assembly

E-Mail this report to a friend

An interview given by Dara Singh, the prime accused in the killing of Australian missionary Graham Stewart Staines and his two sons, to a private television channel has rocked the Orissa assembly.

Raising the issue during the zero hour yesterday, Janata Dal member Ranendra Pratap Swain said the interview has raised doubts over the law and order situation in the state as Dara Singh was still absconding.

Swain wanted to know how Dara Singh could give an interview to a local journalist, when the police were still searching for him in connection with the Staines murder.

The Janata Dal member demanded that Chief Minister Giridhar Gamang should come to the house and make a statement in this regard. He was supported by his party colleague Ashok Das in this regard.
