PM announces relief for Chamoli victims

The Union government Tuesday announced an ex gratia compensation of Rs 1,00,000 each to the families of the Chamoli earthquake victims who were earning members.

The next-of-kin of the non-earning victims will get Rs 50,000 each.

The amount will be paid from the prime minister's relief fund.

The decision was taken at Tuesday's Cabinet meeting.
