4 ultras killed, 2 injured in Assam

At least four hardcore United Liberation Front of Asom militants were killed and two injured in encounters with the police and army at different places in Assam during the past 24 hours.

Three ultras were killed in two separate encounters in Tinsukia district of upper Assam.

Sources said the army apprehended one activist after an encounter at Rupai Siding.

A hardcore activist was killed in an encounter with the police in Bashistha area. A foreign-made revolver was recovered from him.

Meanwhile, five Santhals, including three activists of the Bircha Commando Force, were killed in a fratricidal clash at Amguri refugee camp in Kokrajhar district.
