Pinaka test-fired successfully

Indigenously built multi-barrelled rocket launcher Pinaka was successfully test-fired from Chandipur-On-Sea yesterday.

According to official sources, a series of Pinaka tests were conducted between 1330 and 1630 hours.

Pinaka has a 39-km range and could fire a salvo of 12 rockets in 44 seconds.

The system comprises a launching vehicle and a loader cum replacement vehicle which is fitted with the pre-fragmented explosives.

Pinaka was last test-fired from the range on March 5 last.
