Music directors Jatin-Lalit released on bail

E-Mail this report to a friend

Music directors Jatin and Lalit, who were arrested and remanded to custody earlier this month on a charge of assaulting a hotel lobby manager, were granted bail by Justice B S Patankar of the Bombay high court.

The duo, which was in judicial custody at the Arthur Road jail in central Bombay, were released on personal bonds of Rs1,000 each and an undertaking to attend all court proceedings whenever required.

Their bail applications had been rejected on Monday by Additional Sessions Judge R Y Ganoo of the city civil and sessions court.

Judge Ganoo cited their rejection of court summons for the last four years as the reason for his refusal.

Jatin and Lalit, against whom a case was filed in 1989 for allegedly assaulting the lobby manager of Hotel Centaur, were issued summons several times but avoided appearing in court.
