Hot days in BengalDay temperatures were appreciably above normal in Gangetic West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and in parts of the Bihar plateau, north central Maharashtra and south coastal Andhra Pradesh. They were above normal in Manipur, Bihar plains, north-east Rajasthan, south-east Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and in parts of Haryana, Tamil Nadu and of north interior Karnataka. They were markedly below normal in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, and were appreciably below normal in north Gujarat region. They were below normal in Assam, Sikkim, south-west Rajasthan and Saurashtra and Kutch, and were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh from where the data were sparse. Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in parts of Bihar plains, plains of west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, south-west Rajasthan, Saurashtra and of north central Maharashtra. They were below normal in hills of west Uttar Pradesh, north Gujarat region and in the remaining parts of south-west Rajasthan, and in parts of east Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh and Kutch. They were markedly above normal in Tripura and north-east Madhya Pradesh, and were appreciably above normal in parts of Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and of north interior Karnataka. They were above normal in coastal Orissa, Haryana, south-east Rajasthan, north Andhra Pradesh and in parts of Tamil Nadu. They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh from where the data were sparse. Rain or snow occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, and Kerala. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country. Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, and at isolated places in the hills of west Uttar Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, coastal Orissa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, south Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka and Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
