Hooligans disrupt BJP's celebrations in Delhi

E-Mail this report to a friend

A group of 70 lathi-wielding hooligans disrupted a Jan Jagran function of the Bharatiya Janata Party at Nangloi in the capital last evening.

Sources said the men reached the venue around 1830 hrs, just before the function was to begin.

They reportedly told video cameramen at the function not to shoot anything. One cameraman who did not pay heed was allegedly mishandled. He has lodged a written complaint with the Nangloi police station claiming that his kit containing software worth above Rs 10,000 had been taken away.

The function was organised by the BJP's Punjabi Bagh district unit to celebrate completion of the party-led government's first year of rule at the Centre.

Leaders scheduled to address the function included K L Sharma, V K Malhotra, Pawan Sharma, Yashpal Arya and Narendra Bindal, party's district president.

Bindal, when contacted, refused to comment.
