Bhandari had had enough of Laloo's brand of politics

Sunder Singh Bhandari's hasty exit from Patna's Raj Bhavan is being attributed to Laloo Prasad Yadav's politics, which forced the governor to seek a transfer.

Bihar Congress politicians revealed the day President's rule was revoked in the state, Laloo sent a group of eunuchs to Raj Bhavan where they showered abuse on Bhandari, even urging him "to drop his dhoti and run."

Besides, Laloo spread the word that the government would include a tirade against the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh in the governor's address to the forthcoming Budget session of the state legislature, thus making Bhandari criticise the very organisation of which he has been a member for almost half a century.

When Bhandari complained to leaders of the ruling coalition in Delhi, he was counselled to avoid a confrontation between constitutional officials, especially in a state like Bihar where things are going from bad to worse.
