RSS body condemns 'false Christian propaganda'

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the apex body of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh, has strongly condemned the 'false propaganda' of Christian missionaries to malign Hindu organisations and termed as partisan the role of the media, particularly that of the English press.

A resolution adopted at the annual meeting of the Sabha stated that while the Christian missionaries were 'involved in religious conversions', the media, especially the West-controlled electronic media, have been partisan and biased in reporting and analysing the incidents.

Most of the cases of atrocities reported were 'fake and concocted and blown out of proportion'.

The ABPS called upon the Hindus to take a pledge to expose the dangerous, dubious and unethical evangelising tactics of the Church.

The meeting was attended by several RSS stalwarts and hundreds of workers from all over the country.

''The ABPS condemns the organised Church in India for internationalising the non-existent issue of atrocities on Christians in the country and thus bringing down the image of the nation in the eyes of the world,'' said the resolution, a copy of which was released to the media yesterday.

Blaming the media for creating bad blood between the two communities, the apex body of the RSS said, ''It is beyond our comprehension why the so-called secular press and parties presented themselves in such irresponsible and communal colours.''

The three-day conclave will conclude today with another resolution on the World Trade Organisation.
