BSF busts fake currency racket in Srinagar

The Border Security Force achieved a major success when it busted a fake currency racket operating in Srinagar.

A BSF spokesman said acting on a tipoff, troops raided some suspected hideouts in Lal Bazaar and Karan Nagar area yesterday and arrested one Sajjad Ahmad Bhat along with 43 fake currency notes of Rs 500 denomination.

He said Sajjad later took the BSF party to Shuthra Shahi where one Sameer Ahmad Queshi, the man behind the racket, was also arrested.

He said the BSF recovered a monitor, scanner, keyboard with mouse, floppies and 46 sheets containing three prints of Rs 50 fake currency notes and six sheets containing a print of Rs 100 note.

He said efforts are on to nab the other culprits involved in this racket . He said inspector general of BSF Vijay Kumar has announced cash rewards for the BSF party.
