Hot days return to North IndiaHeat wave conditions prevailed in parts of Orissa, Bihar, the plains of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Day temperatures were markedly above normal in parts of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and of east Rajasthan. They were appreciably above normal in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, and in parts of hills of west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and in the remaining parts of east Rajasthan. They were above normal in parts of central Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala. They were appreciably below normal in Kashmir and in parts of west Rajasthan and Gujarat, and were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh from where the data were sparse. Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in parts of Gujarat state and Tamil Nadu, and were below normal in parts of Punjab and west Rajasthan. They were markedly above normal in parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, the Bihar plateau, the plains of Uttar Pradesh and of Madhya Pradesh, and were appreciably above normal in Gangetic West Bengal, Haryana and in parts of the hills of west Uttar Pradesh, central Maharashtra, Marathwada and of Vidarbha. They were above normal in parts of Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, coastal Karnataka and of Kerala, and were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from where the data were sparse. Rain or snow occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and hills of west Uttar Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Haryana and Punjab. Very light rain also occurred at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country. Rain or snow is at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in the hills of west Uttar Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers are at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam and Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Punjab, Haryana, south Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
