Rajya Sabha adjourned

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned up to 1430 hours without transacting any business today.

As soon as the House assembled this morning chairman Krishan Kant adjouned the house even as the Rashtriya Janata Dal and other Opposition parties attempted to raise the Bihar issue.

The House did not transact any business yesterday with the government announcing that it would make its views on the Bihar issue known to the Rajya Sabha on March 8, when the House will finish its discussions on the motion of thanks to the President's address to Parliament.

The Opposition has expressed its apprehension that the government will attempt to bypass the Upper House like it did in the case of the Prasar Bharati bill.
