Heat wave worsens in Saurashtra, north Konkan

Rain or snow is likely to fall at most places in Jammu and Kashmir, at many places in Himachal Pradesh, and at a few places in the hills of west Uttar Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to fall at a few places in Haryana, Punjab, and north Rajasthan and at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, south Rajasthan, Gujarat, central Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in Saurashtra and in some parts of north Konkan.

Heat wave conditions also prevailed in Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan and Kutch.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, north-east Rajasthan, Gujarat, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and some parts of west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, west Madhya Pradesh, south Tamil Nadu and the remaining parts of the Konkan and Goa.

Day temperatures were above normal in the Bihar plateau, central Maharashtra, Telangana, north Tamil Nadu and the remaining parts of west Madhya Pradesh.

They were normal in the rest of the country, barring Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, from where data were sparse.

Night temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in Meghalaya, Manipur and some parts of the Bihar plains, south-east Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. They were below normal in Tripura and some parts of Assam, Gangetic West Bengal, and south Orissa.

Night temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Sikkim, the hills of west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, north-west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Saurashtra, north-central Maharashtra and some parts of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Kutch.

They were also above normal in Jammu, south-central Maharashtra and coastal Andhra Pradesh. In the rest of the country, barring Arunachal Pradesh, night temperatures were normal.
