Russian defence minister to visit India on March 11

Russian Defence Minister Marshal Igor Sergeev will pay an official visit to India on March 11, according to Novosti.

During his five-day stay, Marshal Sergeev will meet Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Defence Minister George Fernandes and chiefs of the staff of the three Indian services, the news agency quotes official sources.

He is expected to discuss the current state of collaboration and implementation of contracts in defence as well as future trends in military-technical cooperation between the two countries.

The Russian defence minister is likely to visit Agra and Goa as well.
