Rabri Devi rules out change in RJD leadership

E-Mail this report to a friend

Deposed Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi today ruled out the possibility of any change in the leadership of the Rashtriya Janata Dal legislature party.

"The RJD and its legislature party are united on this issue," she said. Rabri Devi told UNI, ''I have the full support of party legislators and none has questioned my leadership.''

Commenting on last night's killing of four people in Jehanabad district, she said President's Rule was not an answer to eradication of extremist activities in the state.

''Could they stop Naxalite attacks after illegal dismissal of the state government?'' she asked.

Rabri Devi was confident that her government would be restored within a few days. ''The people now know about the conspiracy of the BJP-Samata Party combine to dismiss the democratically elected government on fake allegations,'' she added.

Meanwhile, her husband RJD supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav rushed to New Delhi this morning to mobilise political support for the restoration of his party's government in the state.
