TDP rules out poll alliance with NCPShireen in Hyderabad The ruling Telugu Desam Party has ruled out any alliance or understanding with the Nationalist Congress Party led by Sharad Pawar in the ensuing snap polls to the Lok Sabha. TDP general secretary and Rajya Sabha member, C Ramachandraiah, denied reports that the party is considering a poll pact with Sharad Pawar's outfit. "The NCP is only a splinter group of the Congress. Moreover, there is no following for the NCP in Andhra Pradesh. So, where is the question of any alliance," he explained. TDP official spokesman and former Union minister Dr Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, too, refuted rumours of proposed talks between the two parties. Referring to reports from Delhi quoting NCP spokesman Devendra Dwivedi that there was a possibility of talks between the two parties on a poll understanding and that Sharad Pawar had already talked to TDP president and Chief Minister N Chandrabahu Naidu on phone, he said that there was no communication whatsoever between Chandrababu Naidu and Pawar. "There is no proposal for such talks in the future also," he quipped. |
