Heat wave conditions in east Rajasthan

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Andaman and Nicobar islands, east Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala, at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, plains of west Uttar Pradesh, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, and Lakshadweep,

They are also likely at a few places in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, hills of west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Saurashtra and Kutch.

Heavy rain is likely to occur with isolated heavy to very heavy falls in Konkan and Goa and coastal Karnataka during the next 48 hours.

Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan, Kerala and Lakshadweep during the same period.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of east Rajasthan.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of south west Rajasthan and of north west Madhya Pradesh and were above normal in Saurashtra and in remaining parts of east Rajasthan. They were normal over the rest of the country.

The south west monsoon has been vigorous in coastal Karnataka and active in Konkan and Goa and Kerala.
