Monsoon moves up into Goa and south Konkan

Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, the Bihar plateau, east Madhya Pradesh, south Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala in the next 48 hours.

The south-west monsoon has become vigorous in Orissa, south Konkan and Goa and active in coastal Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers fell at most places in Kerala, at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, Marathwada and Lakshadweep, at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, east Madhya Pradesh, and north Konkan, and at isolated places in the hills of west Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, central Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

Very light rain fell at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely at many places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, the Bihar plains, east Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, north Konkan, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep, at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, west Madhya pradesh, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Telangana, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka, and at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, the plains of west Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha and above normal in the Bihar plains, east Madhya Pradesh and the remaining parts of east Rajasthan.

They were appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and in some parts of west Rajasthan, and below normal in some parts of Haryana, Punjab and Kutch.
