Rain in the South, heat in the North

Heavy rain is likely to fall at isolated places in Kerala in the next 48 hours.

Rain or thundershowers fell at many places in Lakshadweep, at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Punjab, east Madhya Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal and south interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Vidarbha and Tamil Nadu.

Very light rain also fell at isolated places in west Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Marathwada and Telangana.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

There may also be rain or thundershowers at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and south interior Karnataka, and at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, south-central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in Kashmir.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of east Madhya Pradesh and above normal in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh and west Madhya Pradesh.

They were below normal in some parts of Rajasthan and north Gujarat.
