Jethmalani moved to law ministry

E-Mail this report to a friend

In a minor reshuffle of the Union Cabinet, Communication Minister Jagmohan was shifted to the urban development ministry in place of Ram Jethmalani, who has been moved to law, justice and company affairs.

According to a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique, the President, on the advice of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, effected the changes in the Union Council of Ministers.

Power Minister P R Kumaramangalam was holding charge of the law and justice ministry since the resignation of M Thambidurai of the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

Jagmohan is said to have incurred the wrath of some telecommunication firms as he had insisted that cellular phone operators pay up their dues to the Department of Telecommunication.
