Monsoon becomes active in Kerala

Heavy rain is likely to fall at isolated places in Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next 48 hours.

The south-west monsoon has become active in Kerala. Rain or thundershowers fell at most places in Lakshadweep, at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, at a few places in west Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka, and at isolated places in east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to fall at most places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala and Lakshadweep, at many places in coastal and south interior Karnataka, at a few places in Tamil Nadu and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of the Bihar plains and east Madhya Pradesh.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Kashmir, and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

They were above normal in some parts of the plains of west Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha and north interior Karnataka.

They were below normal in Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan and Kutch.
