Simultaneous polls in Maharashtra: EC

The assembly elections in Maharasthra will be held along with the Lok Sabha elections, Chief Election Commissioner M S Gill announced in New Delhi today.

Dr Gill said in constituencies where electronic voting machines were being used for the Lok Sabha polls, those would be used for voting to the assembly as well.

Maharashtra will be going to polls in two phases -- on September 4 and 11.
