Monsoon lashes on in the South

Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar plateau, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala during the next 48 hours.

The Southwest monsoon has been active in Orissa.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at most places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and at many places in West Bengal, Sikkim, Konkan, Goa, Telangana and at a few places in Bihar, Punjab, east Rajasthan, Gujarat, central Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

Very light rain also occurred at isolated places in Vidarbha and Marathwada.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.
