UP sees vigorous monsoon

Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar plains, east Uttar Pradesh and coastal Karnataka during the next 48 hours.

The Southwest monsoon has been vigorous in east Uttar Pradesh and active in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Punjab, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, at a few places in the Bihar plains, plains of west Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Telangana and at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Orissa, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Saurashtra and Kutch, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka and Kerala.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely at most places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, in the Bihar plains, east Uttar Pradesh and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar plateau, west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, at a few places in Haryana, Punjab, east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep and at isolated places over the rest of the country outside west Rajasthan where the weather will be mainly dry.
