Former Bihar BJP chief expelled

E-Mail this report to a friend

Three politicians of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Bihar unit, including former president Tarakant Jha, were today expelled for anti-party activities.

A party release in New Delhi said Jha, former member of Parliament Kameshwar Paswan, and member of the Bihar Legislative Council Yashodanand Singh were expelled for six years.

They were charged by state BJP president Nand Kishore Yadav on December 21 and the disciplinary committee unanimously recommended their expulsion after the politicians submitted their explanations.

The decision was also conveyed to the party's central leadership.

When contacted, Yadav said the long-drawn controversy has now come to an end and that it is in the overall interests of the Bihar unit.
