Laloo shuts down RJD youth wing

Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Laloo Prasad Yadav Friday dissolved the party's youth wing on complaints that its office-bearers were involved in illegal activities.

Addressing party workers after Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi inaugurated the RJD's new headquarters in Patna, Yadav said indiscipline would not be tolerated at any cost. Some of the workers had damaged the party's image, he added.

Yadav also urged the chief minister to allot space for office in Patna to all major political parties at subsidised rates.

Rabri Devi called on party workers to strengthen the organisation at the grass-root level and participate in Bihar's development.

State party president Pitamber Paswan and secretary general Ram Kripal Yadav also spoke on the occasion.
