Tripura shuffles bureaucrats

The Tripura government has effected a reshuffle of officials at the district, block and state levels.

Sources said the exercise was undertaken Wednesday night. Accordingly, West Tripura District Magistrate Nepal Sinha has been transferred as the additional secretary of rural development and panchayat department. The finance department joint secretary takes over from him.

Revenue department Joint Secretary Kumar Alok would be the new district magistrate of North Tripura, replacing R C M Reddy, who has been made the additional secretary of home, appointment and services departments.

S R Paul would be the new secretary of the Tripura Public Service Commission. The incumbent till now, N K Maitra, has been made the additional secretary of revenue department.

Ashutosh Jindal, currently the sub-divisional officer of Khowai, would be the new additional district magistrate of West Tripura and L Darlong would be the new additional district magistrate of Dhalai.

Tajinder Singh would be the new joint-secretary of the finance department.

This apart, sources said a large number of sub-divisional officers, block development officers and other senior officials have been transferred.
