Pak ready to launch Ghauri-II after Eid

E-Mail this report to a friend

Pakistan has completed preparations for launching the Ghauri-II ballistic missile.

The missile, with an increased payload, is expected to be test-fired after Eid.

Pakistan had successfully fired Ghauri-I in April 1998.

Developed by Dr Qadeer Khan at Kahuta, the missile can carry a payload of 1,000 kg. It is learnt that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief has given the go-ahead for launching the missile. The delay is because Dr Khan is away for religious reasons.
