Minister of State for Home Mushtaq Ahmad Lone told the legislative assembly yesterday that 3,400 SPOs have been appointed in Doda, 895 in Rajouri and 800 in Udhampur districts. About 1800 SPOs, including women, have been attached to security forces in Doda district. No PSOs have been attached to security forces in Udhampur and Rajouri districts. Replying to Sheikh Abdul Rehman, the minister said the SPOs were being paid Rs 1,500 as monthly stipend.
